Mandala-writing workshop @Arellano University

On December 16th, 2009 (Wednesday) the Arellano University (AU) celebrated its Community Development (ComDev) week with a Peace Program which included a Mandala-writing Peace Art workshop conducted by Orlan de Guzman, Jr. of Byakko Shinko Kai-Pilipinas & The Peacemakers' Circle Foundation, Inc.

The main participants of the workshop were 12 young and vibrant students from the Arellano University High School, who were joined by ComDev staff & guests.

The program also featured a talk & peace monologue by peace, healing & human rights advocate-artist Ms. Dom-an Macagne (of the Kasiyana Peace & Healing Institute from Sagada, Mt. Province).

At the end of the workshop, Dom-an shared the healing & peaceful music of the tungali native noseflute, accompanied by Orlan with the kubing jaw harp.

Special thanks to Ms. Hyacinth Merioles from AU ComDev who organized the program, and Ms. Cielo Lazo from Integral Art Metta (IAM) who took the photos.
